H.B. Bailey was born in 1936. He started Almeda Auto Parts at the age of 18 in 1954. Bailey had begun racing during this time and later made his NASCAR debut in 1962 as an independent driver. He owned and managed the facility until his death in 2003. Soon after, his wife, Michelle took over and later sold the business to long time employee, Erasmo Medina. Medina has kept the business operating with the same principles and has added some new innovation to add to Almeda Auto Parts success.
